Ahhhh, we survived Christmas 2005`

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Christmas. If I didn't I wouldn't have braved going to NYC during a MTA strike. I have to admit though, that on December 26th (especially now that I have kids), I breathe a huge sigh of relief. I would be so content to sleep all day! 364 more days until we get to do it again. Anyway, my house is still a little messy and we've yet to figure out where the new things will "belong" but we are enjoying watching the kids play and looking forward to naptime so we can cuddle on the couch and watch an adult movie. My trip to NYC turned out great and I will be sending out some pictures so you can all see what we did. We did get on the Today show on Friday morning. That was pretty fun. Even my dad in California said he saw me three times. I came home a little worn out and little more broke but it was worth it. The Radio City Music Hall show was unbelievable and I would do it again in a second. I hope you all had a great Christmas too!

Four Days Til Christmas

It's four days before Christmas and low and behold,
our house is suffering from another cold.
For Jack it's the croup, no sleeping for him.
Molly, an earache AND molars coming in.
Mom and Dad are sore and coughing too
I guess we are grateful it isn't the flu.
The lack of sleep is our holiday scrooge
Mom and Dad may need some stiff booze.
All gifts are bought and mostly wrapped
The baking is done and making us fat.
Decorations are hung, and packages shipped.
I really thought I had this Christmas licked.
Then up in New York, where I am headed tomorrow,
The MTA union is causing many a sorrow.
But the tickets are in hand, there's no stopping us now
Somehow we will brave the fast walking crowd.
Will we cross the bridge with our luggage in tow?
Or pick fourth rider and into the city we go.
No one knows for sure what the day will hold but I do know this....
Look for us on Friday mornings Today Show!!

Merry Christmas.

Holiday Rush

Well...I can honestly say my shopping is done and I have only one more "party" to attend this year. It seems like the past few weeks have blown by and I can't believe that Christmas is next Sunday. Between shopping and getting all the packages mailed I feel like I was running circles around myself for at least two weeks. I think we mailed about 13 packages this year. That is something that was a lot easier to get done B. K. (before kids, ha, ha!). I still have my traditional holiday baking to do, my trip to NYC, and we're having company on Christmas Eve. Molly was at the doctor today with another ear infection too. Jeff is out of town but should be home late tonight if he can make it through all the ice. I'd rather him stay at a hotel if it's not safe to drive home. He had to fly out of D. C. so he has a three hour drive to get back. I've yet to get an extra hour to update the site with new pictures but I know I need to otherwise we'll have to wait until after Christmas. Tomorrow maybe. I'm a little sad that we won't be with family this Christmas but it is offset by knowing we will be home for good next year. We'll have the rest of our lives to make up for it. We've had nasty weather and it's a bit early in the year for it so I guess it's going to be a bad winter. We've already had three snows (and it's still on the ground) and right now it is raining/icing outside. Great for driving in the AM!! Maybe, I will finally get a REAL white Christmas. I would LOVE it!!
