Trees

So, most people know that Springfield was a disaster area (still is) after the recent ice storm. Jeff's parents had to take down a huge pine tree in their yard afterwards. Here I was watching them cut down this huge pine and the biologist in me is thinking "what a shame." I went outside and the tree trimmers informed me the wood was going to a burn site and I said NO WAY. I asked them to leave two of the big chunks for us and this is a picture of the biggest piece. Needless to say I found a guy with a sawmill who came out here and cut it for us. From this log and one smaller one we got a bar top for Jeff's bar, a huge fireplace mantel, and one smaller fireplace mantel for our new house! Isn't that great? They are going to be gorgeous and we'll always have a story to tell about where the wood came from.














Here is a picture of Jack doing Yoga, yes Yoga with Jeff's mom. Molly had lost interest but at one time they were both doing it. It was very cute!
